This lacquer screen consists of six panels that are connected with hinges and are decorated on both sides with lacquer motives in gold and red lacquer on black. Between two flower and foliage borders there are vases full of flowers, interlocking rings, insects and foliage depicted. In the center there is an extensive Oriental landscape with pagoda’s, mountains, trees and many figures busy going about their day. On one side the people in the boats are busy fishing, on the other side it’s a leisurely boat ride with two people reclining under a canopy. Most of the islands are connected by bridges on which people are passing.
